At the heart of the PRIME is an LGA 1700 socket and Z790 chipset, allowing you to leverage a wide range of 12th and 13th Gen Intel processors. Four DDR5 Dual-Channel RAM slots allow you to equip up to 128GB of memory for enhanced multitasking capabilities and complex photo and video rendering. Four SATA III and three M.2 storage interfaces are available so you can build a large library of storage drives for your games or creative projects. A single PCIe 5.0 x16 slot is available for resource-demanding graphics cards while three PCIe 4.0 x16 (in x4 mode) and one PCIe 3.0 x1 slot support a wide range of utility cards. A range of USB 2.0, 3.2 Gen 1, Gen 2, and Gen 2x2 back panel ports and internal headers provide you with plenty of support for peripherals from low-powered equipment like mice, keyboards, and controllers to resource-demanding devices like external drives and storage arrays. To ensure your system remains cool under heavy loads, the PRIME motherboard incorporates a large VRM heatsink for capacitors and chokes as well as integrated M.2 heatsinks and backplates for better thermal performance that prevents throttling. Hybrid fan headers and Fan Xpert 4 software control fans and liquid cooling elements for enhanced cooling that can be modified to your preference.

Connectivity

Between the backplate and the internal headers, the PRIME offers robust connectivity suitable for your peripherals. USB-A and USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 and Gen 2 ports deliver up to 5 and 10 Gb/s data transfer speeds, respectively, suitable for webcams, mics, and external storage drives. The USB-C 3.2 Gen 2x2 port gives you up to 20 Gb/s data transfer speed for resource-demanding devices such as storage arrays and audio interfaces. You can expand your connectivity with an internal Thunderbolt 4 header, allowing you to utilize high-speed connectivity that supports fast transfer speeds and Power Delivery technologies.

Additional Enhancements

Support larger graphics cards with integrated PCIe 5.0 SafeSlot, which reinforces the PCIe x16 slot with an aluminum shield as well as additional solder points for greater retention. Q-LED Code system makes troubleshooting your system easier by providing you with various lighting patterns designed to tell you exactly which component is having trouble when booting.

Shipping

Refunds
