The HPE Networking Instant On Access Point AP22D is an SMB-focused Wi-Fi Certified 6 access point that delivers reliable wired and wireless connectivity through a 2.5 GbE uplink port in a minimal device footprint. This access point can reduce device clutter while powering downlink devices such as IP phones or receipt printers with 2x 15W PoE (802.3af) and supporting 75+ wireless devices over 802.11ax Wi-Fi 6 with a total wireless throughput of 1.7 Gbps. Easily manage the Instant On AP22D using the Instant On mobile app or portal to create guest and employee networks, manage access control lists, and set POE schedules to adjust power consumption. Make the most of the limited space in your small business by mounting the Instant On AP22D to a desk or wall using the included mounting kits.

802.11ax Wi-Fi Certified 6

The HPE Networking Instant On Access Points AP22D feature Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access (OFDMA), which enables the access points to serve multiple Wi-Fi 6-enabled clients on each channel simultaneously, improving efficiency by increasing overall capacity and reducing latency. Target Wake Time (TWT) is ideal for IoT devices that communicate intermittently; TWT establishes a schedule for when clients need to communicate with an AP, reducing power consumption and extending client battery life. Multi-User, Multiple Input, Multiple Output (MU-MIMO) enables the access point to serve multiple clients (Wi-Fi 5 and Wi-Fi 6) simultaneously.

Ethernet uplink port with 2.5 Gbps

HPE Networking Instant On Access Points AP22D provide higher available bandwidth to support more traffic over Wi-Fi 6 or the downlink Ethernet ports. Leverage existing cabling infrastructure such as Cat5 or Cat6(a) cables and avoid the additional cost of running new cables throughout your facility. Four Gigabit Ethernet ports with 1 Gbps

Connect up to four RJ-45 copper devices to HPE Networking Instant On Access Points AP22D without the need for an additional switch to manage them. The downlink ports can power two 15W PoE (802.3af) devices without the need for a bulky POE injector.

WLAN standard 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6)

The 802.11ax standard is the next generation of the WLAN standard, which has been continuously developed for years and is once again introducing innovation with this version, also known as WLAN 6. The standard builds on the advantages of the 802.11ac standard and extends them with efficiency, flexibility and scalability. This enables higher speeds and capacities for next-generation applications, both in new and existing networks.

Multi-User MIMO/ MU-MIMO

As part of the Wave 2 evolution of the 802.11ac standard, Multi-User MIMO technology was introduced. By using Multi-User MIMO, this device can stream data to multiple devices simultaneously. This allows your Wi-Fi network to deliver faster throughput to each connected client. This means faster downloads and lag-free streaming for your devices.

Easy installation thanks to PoE

This network-capable device is powered via the LAN cable using Power over Ethernet (PoE). The main advantage of PoE is that you do not need a power cable. This means you can install Ethernet-connected devices in places that are difficult to access or in areas where many cables would be disruptive. You save on installation costs and, if you wish, you can increase the reliability of the connected devices by using a central uninterruptible power supply (UPS).
